the Yellow Ribbon

Our Nomadic Life in Dubai had made us shift house... again! Yes.. for the nth time and hopefully the last time... we moved to a new place. We had our internet lines transferred again, sadly this time it took us 4 weeks to have it done. Grabe.. but those 4 weeks seems 40 years! I felt i have missed quite a lot.

I missed the blog world, I missed chatting with friends. My messages in my mail box almost reaches a hundred! But what made me so sad was the news about President Cory's death. I cried a lot when i have heard from the news that she already passed away. Just few months ago, i have send her a message to her official website sending my support in her battle with her illness, feeling close huh!

Of course i didnt know Tita Cory personally, but you do not need to be blood-related to her to be emotionally attached to her. Her contributions to restoring democracy in our country, giving back to us our freedom, her advocacies in keeping the peace and her undying faith to God have endeared her to all of us. Indeed, the lady in Yellow have done a great job and she have done it with flying colors. Even in her last days on earth, she had proved the whole world that despite her death.. the Cory's Magic will forever live.

As an individual, Cory have instilled in me the spirit of Nationalism, she often say that the Philippines is the only country we have and we should love our own. While Ninoy said that the Filipinos are worth dying for, Cory believes that Filipinos are worth living for. Now that one of our strongest pillar is gone, how do we start in preserving the democracy that we have?

Tomorrow is "Araw ng Dilaw". I may be not physically present at home to join the people in wearing yellow and be able to join my kabayans to help SPARK THE YELLOW FAR AND WIDE to commemorate Ninoy's and Cory's love for the Filipino. But I know deep within me that the yellow ribbon would forever be tied in my heart and my spirit as a Filipino wherever i may be.
