the old ones...

I got my laptop back!!

Oct. 14, my Tatay's Birthday was the first time I was able to turn on my laptop again.. after more than a year that it had been on a.. lets put it this way.. REHAB!!

Thanks to the kindness and patience of my flatmate "Bongerts" who helped me get my laptop "running" again! Everything was done for FREE! yIPEeee!

I got a bit sad because all the old pics stored in my laptop were never recovered. You know.. memories of people.. places.. events from way back six years . All had gone KAPUT!

I consoled my self to the though that , everything happens for a reason. Maybe its better that way, some things are better left forgotten. They say the best things in life that you need to keep are those being stored in the heart and in the mind. So somehow, the best things will still remain.

As I go through my mobile pics, i saw this old images I took and would like to remember. Just wanna share it here in my blog site as some sort of a "back up plan". Should (heaven forbid!!) my laptop decided to crash itself again, I could always open my blog and refresh my memories again.

so my next post would consist of random things I managed to capture from a year of laptop-less existence..

One night in the OLD SoUK..

Reaching there through ABRA.. a small boat like the Local used during the olden days.. the fare is cheap.. 1.50 AED or approximately 0.40usd, you can take bus as well but the ABRA experience adds to the trill!

some buildings are preserved, just renovated a bit to give a modern touch to it..

the Graveyard Shift...

time check: 4:10am

Dubai local Time

I, for the life of me, can NOT remember being so much awake at this particular time of the day..

After being rostered in the morning shift for the whole 5 years of my airport career, Virgin Atlantic Team, finally let go of me.

Today is officially my 12th day with the Air France Team. The sudden changed really surprised me! I have never been happy in my Dnata Life to the point that I nearly kissed Mr. A , and shocked the wits out of him when I barged in to his office and tell him how please I was.

The night shift doesn't necessarily mean an easier work load.. far from it, I have been rostered in the hours when the airport is at its busiest! Nevertheless, my shift change have SAVED me from "sliding" further and further down. The monotony of work in my morning schedule is killing me softly.. to the point that coming to work or even the thought of it is becoming a torture. Now, praise God above all, i have been enjoying my new work pattern.

I , however, needs to go through some major adjustments, on my first few days of duty in the evening, it felt weird of leaving the house for work just as everyone is going home from theirs.

Working in the airport requires a great deal of " quick pick-ups" and strong grasp on your memory. After almost half a year of not doing a certain flight and almost 5 years of doing the rest of it, in an instant you would be thrown on a flight that you haven't done before or you know nothing about. I practically just closed my eyes and let my fingers do the work in keying my flight entries. I totally forgot my codes and passwords!

my world was suddenly flipped upside down, imagine eating brunch at 2pm and having your dinner at 3 am the next day. i sleep at 5am and i wake up at 1pm ... it creates havoc to my body clock as it never recognize day and night anymore... and oh.. i lost track of the dates and days already!

But i am still happy... sometimes, we have to be rocked out of our comfort zones to enjoy the "other" side of life.

When was the last time i have ever seen the quiet road at DAWN?? when was the last time i have appreciated how blissfully cold the midnight air was? or how charming the city lights are?...it seems like a million years ago..

hmmmmmm..

NOW.......I am watching Sex and the City 2 while golfing down the chocolates given to me by a passenger.. triieeeeedd so hard to resist but he wouldn't leave my counter unless I accept it..

He cajoled.. C'mon it's only a chocolate!

I retorted... "yeah Sir..only chocolate.. but it will go straight to my thighs and stay there Forever!

His guffaws almost shattered the walls of the airport...!

This is the night shift. Graveyard shift as the others might call it.... but heavens above, I am loving every minute of it...

Have a Nice Day everyone...!

I'm off to sleep now.. ciao!

the Confirmation...

Minutes... after I posted my blog about the New love of my life, Mr. Daniel Louisy, I got this from my Facebook notification:

*** Insert an image of me here smiling from ear to ear***

I don't really care if this is just a Fan Page....or someone is administering his FB account.. for as long as I can see all his pics..

just for inspiration..... *grinning*

but.. Mr. Louisy, I am dead serious about having kids..reAlly....! **** batting eyelashes***

the Daniel encounter....

I came to work today fully convinced that this is going to be another boring day.

After the 2 days off (which is never enough!) I am about to start my 10-hour duty.. Ugh!

Mo Twister once twitted that "whoever said that CHANGE is constant is LYING.." and I couldn't agree more.. In our line of work, you will always deal with the same routine, same flights, same issues, same old sh*T.. 90% of the blasted time.

I was thinking this is just an ordinary day... until Sheebah (bless her usual wickedness.. :-) brought to our counter The Daniel ..that knocks our socks off!

Daniel Louisy seems to be just an ordinary passenger like every one else.. but the moment he stood in front of our counter we knew that he is no ordinary man..

He made my friend Reich blushing from head to her cuticles ! And I could swear that her lifetime supplies of blushes has already been used up....

Who the heck wouldn't...? It's not every day that you come face to face with a man like this:

just one look at his sharp jawline.. and perfectly chiseled features
is enough to melt the heart of the Ice Queen ..

It was sad that I never got the chance to get a picture with him... but its ok.. for now I just need to be contented with the note he made for me at the boarding gates ( with a "little" connivance with my feisty supervisor Sheeba)...

You are welcome, Sir.....

I just want to ask for a *small favor* though....

just in case, my future husband wouldn't make it in MY future...

I just want you to know that i wouldn't mind at all should you decide to give me kids.. even

through In Vitro Fertilization.. or any other way! Ok?..

Just.............in case........ !

Hahahahahahaha

the PINK signs...

I am now passing through a very tough situation...

and honestly, I don't know how I am going to take things as it happens..

But being a great believer in God and all his divine ways.. I have surrendered everything to him.

and I know that what ever it is I am going through right now shall also come to its end..

this too.. shall pass..
----------------------- (*______*)

Browsing the net, puffy-eyed and all.... I decided to do my daily reads..

Chuvaness' site is one of my all-time favorites.. i saw these images in one of her blog posts. In an instant, my shattered day had been restored, if not fully, atleast, this one helps soothe the pains of life's devastatingly-PACQUIAO-punch-like blows..

let me share it to you...

I dont know if this is really a sign board officially released by the MMDA... but either way... damn!!! it abso-effing-lutely send its message across! hahaha

I'm sure the beauty conscious will never even think about violating the law with this sign..

Had a hard time recovering from this one..... Parang text lang?

wonder what you will reply back, something like... w8 lng dyan n me.. ???

And of course the jejemons would surely appreciate this one:

ohkiiehh phooow... thEnnkkszz for kkCaringzz!!

I salute the humor of Pinoys.. no matter how devastatingly low the life can get, we still manage to get the chance to laugh and enjoy life.

Even im so far away from home, I know I will always be able to "recover" from anything.. thanks to the Pinoy spirit in me, I know I will always be OK.

And ofcourse, if life gets tough, always remember that there is GOD..

just have faith.. and follow HIS signs...

the Baby...

Opening my Facebook account is becoming confusing most of the time..

When I created my account last year and added my friends from school, colleagues from work (previous and present) i have always been amazed of how history unfolds before my eyes...

There has been a "trending " stages in Facebook picture post..

First, is the "wedding gown series", next will be the "ultrasound-result-theme" and recently, the "nursery-updates". when you can witness first-hand, how their cute infants turns to adorable toddlers and gradually... to the first graders.. and so on...
Although I'm still enjoying the quiet life of what other may call "blessed-singleness".... I still cant help but wonder how it feels to become a Mom. I know that it is going to be waaaay to far beyond still, but in my heart I know I will one day become a MOM... :-)

so to my friends who are already one, I know raising a Kid is never a walk in the park and a continues learning experience as well. Let me share with you this interesting reads... and im sure it could teach us a thing or two on how to deal with the little ones or even the "once-he/she -was just-a -little-one".
A NOTE FROM A CHILD

1. Don't spoil me. I know quite well that I ought not to have all I ask for. I'm only testing you.

2. Don't be afraid to be firm with me. I prefer it, it makes me feel secure.

3. Don't let me form bad habits. I have to rely on you to detect them in the early stages.

4. Don't make me feel smaller than I am. It only makes me behave stupidly "big".

5. Don't correct me in front of people if you can help it. I'll take much more notice if you talk quietly with me in private.

6. Don't make me feel that my mistakes are sins. It upsets my sense of values.

7. Don't protect me from consequences. I need to learn the painful way sometimes.

8. Don't be too upset when I say "I hate you". Sometimes it isn't you I hate but your power to thwart me.

9. Don't take too much notice of my small ailments. Sometimes they get me the attention I need.

10. Don't nag. If you do, I shall have to protect myself by appearing deaf.

11. Don't forget that I cannot explain myself as well as I should like. That is why I am not always accurate.

12. Don't put me off when I ask questions. If you do, you will find that I stop asking and seek my information elsewhere.

13. Don't be inconsistent. That completely confuses me and makes me lose faith in you.

14. Don't tell me my fears are silly. They are terribly real and you can do much to reassure me if you try to understand.

15. Don't ever suggest that you are perfect or infallible. It gives me too great a shock when I discover that you are neither.

16. Don't ever think that it is beneath your dignity to apologize to me. An honest apology makes me feel surprisingly warm towards you.

17. Don't forget I love experimenting. I couldn't get along without it, so please put up with it.

18. Don't forget how quickly I am growing up. It must be very difficult for you to keep pace with me, but please do try.

19. Don't forget that I don't thrive without lots of love and understanding, but I don't need to tell you, do I?

20. Please keep yourself fit and healthy. I need you.
